Robin  Hood at Hawkestone Manor?
We have the extreme pleasure of receiving a booking for the first time this year at Hawkestone Manor August Bank Holiday 2007.  What surprised us as a group was that they requested us to do a Robin Hood performance for our visit.
Granted, if they wanted Robin Hood they have come to the right group as we are the premier Archery Display company not to mention have the reputation of doing one of the best Robin Hood presentations in all of England (and abroad!)
It would appear that Hawkestone Manor has actual connections to Robin Hood and I must admit for one being very curious what connections a beautiful Manor in Shropshire could have to the Hooded Man, and have gone so far as making formal inquiries on the subject.  I await a response from the caretaker of this lovely venue to get back in touch with me on this matter so watch this space !
Carew 500

Returning to carew castle for their 12th year, and as a favour to Carew Castle for the very close relationship the club now has with this venue, the Wolfshead Bowmen were very excited to have the honour of participating in Carew 500. Combining the group’s knowledge of Carew Castle with what this anniversary represented, the group changed their performance this year to reflect the importance of this festive occasion. With this in mind, Wolfshead Bowmen presented the awarding of the Knight of the Garter by the King Henry VII to Sir Rhys ap Thomas in 1507. The ceremony was marked by a fierce longbow archery competition and fire arrow display in the Kings honour. With the many honoured noblemen along with the Bishop of Wales that attended this momentous occasion, the scene reflected the colour and pageantry that no doubt would have been seen at the castle in 1507.
Included are some of the photos from this exciting event.
