Milde - a Saxon freewoman from Glossams Place who married and whose husband was hung due to his many misdemeanours. She has two children Ailric and Aelfgifu. Her husband used to make games before he went mad and she still has some that she plays whenever she can and is finding she can make them herself and sometimes sells them at market. She is sometimes accused of witchcraft due to her constant babbling and making of strange dishes and concoctions for ailments as well as joining in with some of the old rituals with fellow village women. She now spends her time doing what she can to survive and avoiding as many of the Norman laws as possible.
